The Kauri Museum in Northland, New Zealand is a 2 hour drive from Auckland, or a 1 hour drive from Whangarei – 20 minutes from the Brynderwyn turn off on SH12. The Museum is en-route to the ancient kauri trees within the Waipoua Forest.

Public transport

Te Wai Ora Coachlines run a bus service between Auckland and Dargaville that stops at the Museum and can offer charters or tours to suit your needs. Alternatively, Intercity run a bus service between Auckland and the Bay of Islands that will stop on request at the Brynderwyn Hills at the intersection of SH1 and SH12.

The Kauri Museum is happy to arrange a collection service for 4 passengers or less from the Brynderwyn Intersection Monday-Friday. Please contact us for more information on costs.
